Set in an intimate warehouse dating back to 1680 on the Prinsengracht, everything at John Dory is about the experience. Not just what is on your plate, but also the atmosphere of the building, the warmth of the space, and the feeling that you are truly escaping for a special evening. A night that begins calmly and naturally unfolds into something extraordinary.

The restaurant is divided into two areas. On the ground floor is the John Dory Bar, a place where you can drop in for a fine glass of wine or another exquisite drink. The bar menu features dishes perfect for sharing or enjoying on your own, such as BBQ octopus, homemade dumplings, freshly shucked oysters, and carefully sliced charcuterie.

Upstairs is the restaurant, where we serve a seasonal fixed menu. We work with fresh ingredients from our trusted suppliers. Daily fresh fish often takes center stage, complemented by local meats and seasonal vegetables. Within the culinary arrangement, fish, shellfish, poultry, and meat come together in a thoughtfully composed menu. The evening begins with a selection of refined amuse-bouches that set the tone for the rest of your dining experience.

The John Dory Bar is open on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM and on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:00 PM.

For the restaurant, we welcome you from Wednesday to Saturday from 6:00 PM for a complete culinary evening.
